2. Service

ville is an iOS app to track people, circles, and interactions, receive nudges, and view insights. Features may change as we improve the app.

3. Account

Sign-in uses email + one-time code (OTP). Keep your email and devices secure. One account per person unless agreed otherwise.

4. Encryption & recovery phrase

Content (names, notes, journals, photos) is encrypted on your device; we store ciphertext only and cannot read it.
You receive a 16-word recovery phrase. We never receive or store it.
You are responsible for saving it. If lost (and iCloud Keychain cannot restore access on a new device), encrypted cloud data may be permanently lost—we cannot recover it.
ville is not fully zero-knowledge: we process your email, account data, and nudge metadata as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Your content

You retain ownership. You grant us rights to host and sync content solely to operate the service. You must have rights to any data you enter (including third-party contact details).

6. Contacts import

Optional. You choose which contacts to import on your device.

7. Push nudges

Optional. Delivery depends on iOS/APNs and your settings; we do not guarantee delivery.

8. Export & deletion

Export people/interactions as CSV on device (plaintext—handle carefully). Delete account in Settings to remove server data, subject to backup/legal retention.

9. Acceptable use

No unlawful content, abuse, or attempts to bypass security.

10. Availability

Best-effort availability; maintenance and outages may occur. Beta/TestFlight builds may contain bugs.

11. Liability

German law applies. Liability limits apply for slight negligence as permitted by law. We are not liable for loss caused by a lost recovery phrase or failure to export, where legally allowed.

12. Termination

You may delete your account anytime. We may suspend access for material breaches.

13. Changes

Material changes will be announced in-app or by email with notice as required by law.
